kia 1.6 turbo engine Page 43

Kia’s 1.6‑litre T‑GDI turbo petrol shows up in the Cerato GT, Seltos, Sportage and in hybrid pairings for the Sorento and Sportage—small, punchy, and not shy about mid‑range shove. In non‑hybrid tunes it typically makes around 130–150 kW and 265 Nm, depending on model and year. It’s usually matched to a 7‑speed dual‑clutch or 8‑speed automatic, giving brisk overtakes without needing to thrash it. In hybrid models, the 1.6T teams with an electric motor for notably stronger combined outputs and efficiency. Keep it happy with timely servicing and gentle warm‑ups; turbos like fresh oil more than you like your morning flat white. Consult official documentation for exact figures.
