kia cerato review 2023 Page 2

The 2023 Kia Cerato is the sensible small car that sneaks in some fun—like finding hot chips at the bottom of the bag. The 2.0‑litre non‑turbo does honest work at about 112 kW/192 Nm, while the GT’s 1.6‑litre turbo brings 150 kW/265 Nm and a snappy DCT for Monday‑to‑Friday mischief. Ride comfort is solid, steering is tidy, and the cabin tech (CarPlay/Android Auto, larger screen on upper trims) makes commuting less of a chore. Safety kit is generous for the class—AEB, lane‑keep, and adaptive cruise on higher grades—plus Kia’s 7‑year warranty is the cherry on top. Fuel use is around 7–8 L/100 km for the 2.0; the GT is rated lower on paper but can climb if you enjoy the boost. New, it sat roughly mid‑$20k to mid‑$30k drive‑away; used 2023 examples hover about $20k–$32k depending on trim and kilometres.
