kia sorento 2007 reviews Page 3

The 2007 Kia Sorento is old‑school SUV: ladder‑frame toughness, proper low‑range in many variants, and a cabin that shrugs off kids, dogs and muddy boots.

It’s comfortable enough, a capable tow‑and‑camp companion, and cheaper to buy than the usual Japanese suspects of the era.

Downsides are predictable: trucky ride and handling, the petrol can be thirsty, and safety tech predates modern acronyms—no AEB or lane gizmos here.

As with any two‑decade‑old 4x4, condition and service history matter more than badges; inspect thoroughly.

• Suspension/steering wear (bushes, ball joints, shocks) after years of load and corrugations.
• Cooling system leaks or tired radiators/hoses—overheating ruins weekends.
• Automatic transmission needs evidence of fluid changes; sloppy shifts or delays are red flags.
• 4WD checks: ensure low‑range engages cleanly; no binding or flashing dash lights.
• Electrical niggles (window regulators, sensors) and underbody corrosion if it’s seen beach work.
