Hunting for a “fuel button” in a Kia Sportage? There usually isn’t one.
On most Australian-delivered Sportage models, the fuel flap is push-to-open: unlock the car, press the rear-right fuel door, and it’ll pop so you can twist off the cap.
If it won’t budge, make sure the central locking is unlocked and press the edge firmly—no need to body-slam it like a wrestling heel.
On some older generations there may be a small release lever near the driver’s seat base or floor; if yours looks old enough to remember CDs, check there or the owner’s manual.
If it’s stuck, a quick clean and a dab of silicone spray on the latch can help; if it’s locked solid, let a dealer sort it before something expensive snaps.
