ldv vehicles origin Page 3

Short version: LDV today is Chinese—owned by SAIC Motor—with vehicles built in China for Australia.

The badge began life in the UK as Leyland DAF Vans (yep, that’s where “LDV” comes from) before the British outfit folded and the brand was revived under SAIC around 2009.

Our-market models like the T60 ute, D90 SUV, and G10/Deliver 9 vans are sourced from China, with global engineering input but the hardware very much Middle Kingdom.

So: British roots, Chinese parent, Chinese manufacturing—an origin story with fewer tea breaks and more assembly robots.
