ldv vs great wall Page 56

LDV vs Great Wall in Australia is the budget-ute-and-SUV showdown: sharp prices, long warranties, and plenty of kit—just not quite Ranger/Hilux polish.

Think LDV T60/Deliver 9 versus GWM Cannon/Haval: both have improved hugely, but the badges still trail the Japanese crowd on resale and refinement.

LDV

• Pros: Strong value, torquey work-friendly powertrains, tradie-ready payloads, and a rapidly growing dealer network.
• Cons: Cabins can feel utilitarian, safety tech and ratings vary by year/trim, ride/refinement more jobsite than café strip, and resale is modest.

Great Wall (GWM)

• Pros: Feature-packed cabins for the money, comfy seats, slick infotainment, and an attractive warranty/value story.
• Cons: Steering and ride tuning can be inconsistent, powertrain calibration isn’t always polished, driver-assist can be over-eager, and resale is still catching up.

Test both on your usual roads, check current ANCAP ratings and capped-price servicing, and let your toolbox—or pram—be the judge.
