leaf battery Page 7

The Nissan Leaf's battery is the heart of its electric charm, boasting a capacity ranging from 24 kWh to 62 kWh depending on the model year and variant. Its electric motor is fed by a lithium-ion pack that offers a real-world range between 150 to 385 kilometres, making it a decent city hopper but not quite a road trip hero. Battery health and degradation are common concerns; expect some capacity loss after 5-7 years, especially in warmer Aussie climates. New Leafs come with an 8-year/160,000 km warranty on the battery, which is a comforting safety net. Used Leafs can be found on sites like Tradingpost and CarShowroom for anywhere between $10,000 and $40,000 AUD depending on age, condition and battery size. For the full specs and warranty details, always consult official Nissan documentation.
