learner license qld Page 4

Ah, the sacred gateway to your driving freedom in Queensland: the learner licence. To get one, you must be at least 16 years old and pass a written road rules test, which you can prep for using the official Queensland Driver's Handbook. Once armed with your shiny new learner's permit, you must display L plates and be supervised by a fully licensed driver.

The learner phase lasts at least 12 months, during which you'll need to clock a minimum of 100 hours of supervised driving, including 10 hours at night. Remember, no booze, no speeding, and no mobile phones unless hands-free—because rules are rules.

For the nitty-gritty, including fees and booking your test, check out the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads or nab some useful resources on ServiceCentral.
