Chasing a learner permit in QLD? Here’s the deal without the yawns.
You can apply at 16 after passing the road-rules knowledge test and a vision check, with proper ID in hand. Once you’ve got the Ls, display L plates front and back, keep a 0.00 BAC, ditch the phone, and drive with a supervising driver who holds an open licence in the front passenger seat. If you’re under 25, you’ll need 100 logbook hours including 10 at night and hold Ls for 12 months before the practical test. If you’re 25 or over, there’s no 100-hour logbook and no 12‑month minimum—book the test when you’re competent. Check Queensland TMR for any fine print before you stoke up the barbecue to celebrate.
