Ah, the fabled "lemon law" in Queensland—a consumer's shield against dodgy vehicles. In QLD, the law falls under the Australian Consumer Law, which means if your new or used car has a major fault that can't be fixed after a reasonable number of attempts, you might be entitled to a refund, replacement, or compensation. Key points include a reasonable number of repair attempts (usually three or more) and the fault must significantly impair the vehicle's use, value, or safety.

Note that this law applies for a limited time after purchase and covers both dealer and private sales with some nuances. For the nitty-gritty, consulting ServiceCentral or the official Queensland government consumer affairs sites is a wise move. Remember, it's not a get-out-of-jail-free card for minor niggles or wear-and-tear.
