Ah, lemon laws in Queensland—Australia's way of giving you a fighting chance when your new car turns out to be a dud. Officially, these laws allow consumers to seek a refund or replacement if their vehicle has a major fault that can't be fixed after a reasonable number of attempts within a certain period—usually the first six months to a year.

Queensland follows the Australian Consumer Law, which means if your car is a lemon, the dealer or manufacturer must fix it, replace it, or refund you.

Common issues addressed:

• Persistent mechanical failures
• Safety defects
• Non-conformity to description or sample

Remember, documenting every repair attempt is your secret weapon. For more nitty-gritty, check out Consumer Affairs Queensland or ServiceCentral.
