leyland p76 boot Page 2

The Leyland P76’s boot is the stuff of Aussie car lore—it famously swallows a 44-gallon drum with the lid shut, like a magician palming a watermelon.

It’s wide, deep and usefully square, so suitcases, prams and the dog’s ego all fit at once without Tetris.

The spare wheel and hinges nick a bit of space, but for a 1970s sedan the luggage bay is colossal and then some.

If you’re hunting parts, boot seals, locks and hinges are still scroungeable via clubs and specialists, because nostalgia never truly runs out of storage.
