The Lightning Car, if you’re referring to the Lightning GT, is a bold British electric sports car that screams eco-friendly speed. It boasts four electric motors producing a combined 536 kW (720 hp), which catapults it from 0 to 100 km/h in about 4 seconds flat. Its carbon fibre chassis and aluminium body keep things light and nimble, while the 42 kWh lithium-ion battery pack offers a respectable range of roughly 320 km. New, these beasts never really hit the mainstream market, so pricing is more theoretical than concrete, but expect a price tag north of $300,000 AUD if you find one. Used? Good luck, they’re rarer than a polite kangaroo. For the serious eco-throttle junkie, the Lightning GT remains a fascinating footnote in electric car history.
