There isn’t one “maximum solar system size” for NSW; it depends on your distributor (Ausgrid, Endeavour, Essential), your connection (single or three-phase), and any export limits they apply. For most homes, a common sweet spot is a 5 kW inverter paired with up to about 6.6 kW of panels under current STC rules (panels up to roughly 133% of inverter capacity). Three-phase properties can usually go larger, but approval and possible export caps decide what you can actually feed back. Installers can request bigger systems or set export control if the network’s fussy—normal, case-by-case stuff. Bottom line: check your DNSP’s connection guidelines and let a CEC-accredited installer size it to your meter, phase, and roof. Consult official documentation for exact figures.
