mazda 3 android auto upgrade Page 88

Yes, you can upgrade a Mazda 3 to Android Auto—if it’s the BM/BN (2014–2018) with MZD Connect.

Mazda’s official retrofit kit swaps the USB hub and updates firmware (to v70+), then enables Android Auto and CarPlay; budget about AUD 350–600 fitted, and roughly 1–2 hours at a dealer or savvy installer.

2019-on models usually have it from factory, so save your wallet the theatrics.

After install, use a quality USB cable, plug into the new high-power port, and Android Auto should pop up faster than your phone decides to update itself.

Kits and parts are commonly sourced via Mazda dealers; used sets sometimes appear on Tradingpost if you fancy a bargain hunt.

If your car lacks MZD Connect, you’re looking at aftermarket head units instead—more wiring, more patience, better coffee.
