mazda 6 2023 review Page 2

The 2023 Mazda 6 is the last of the elegant, grown-up sedans, wearing its suit better than some German execs on expense accounts. You get a 2.5‑litre petrol (about 140 kW) or a turbo 2.5 with around 170 kW and 420 Nm, both tied to a slushy‑smooth six‑speed auto and front‑drive that favours comfort without killing the fun. It steers sweetly, rides with quiet confidence, and the cabin feels convincingly premium without the snobby price tag. Expect real‑world fuel use in the high‑6s to 8s L/100 km depending on engine and enthusiasm, plus a big boot and all the usual safety assists backed by a five‑star ANCAP from an earlier protocol. New in 2023, pricing typically sat around AUD 36k–55k before on‑roads, while used 2023 examples commonly list circa AUD 30k–45k depending on trim and kilometres. Downsides? The infotainment is showing its age and six gears feel quaint in 2023, but the refinement and finish make it an easy car to admire.
