mazda 6 models

In Australia the Mazda 6 range sticks to two shapes—sedan and wagon—because some of us still like boots and big boots.

Trims usually run from Sport and Touring to the better‑dressed GT SP and Atenza, with the odd special edition popping up when Mazda feels celebratory.

Engines are a straightforward choice: a 2.5‑litre petrol in the lower grades, and a punchier 2.5‑litre turbo in the up‑spec ones, all driving the front wheels through an automatic.

If you’re browsing used, you’ll see generations tagged GG/GY, GH, and GJ/GL; the newer the letters, the nicer the cabin and safety tech.

Lineups and features shift year to year, so double‑check local spec sheets before you rock up with a bank cheque.
