For the Mazda BT-50, most well-regarded lift kits (Old Man Emu/ARB, Ironman 4x4, Dobinsons, Tough Dog, Bilstein combos) deliver roughly a 40–50 mm lift, tighter body control, and better load handling—especially with touring gear. Ride unladen can firm up, and on IFS models you must watch CV angles and alignment after the lift; 2 inches is the sensible ceiling for road-legal practicality. Quality kits feel planted on corrugations and towing, but cheap mixes can pogo-stick or sag under accessories. Warranty and insurance are fine if you stay within spec and get it engineered where required—paperwork isn’t sexy, but fines aren’t either.
