mazda cx-3 2023 review Page 3

The 2023 Mazda CX‑3 is the pint-sized SUV that thinks it’s a hot hatch and largely gets away with it.

Steering is sharp, the 2.0‑litre petrol feels eager enough around town, and the cabin quality is posh for the price—plus Apple CarPlay/Android Auto come standard.

Safety tech like AEB and lane support is present, but the real party trick is how tidy it feels on a twisty B‑road, even if the ride can turn a bit firm on rougher Aussie chip.

Practicality is the catch: the back seat is tight for adults and the boot is more ‘weekly shop’ than ‘flat-pack furniture extravaganza’.

Economy is decent and running costs reasonable, yet road noise at highway speeds still sneaks in, reminding you it’s a city slicker first, tourer second.

If you prioritise style and driving feel over rear legroom, it’s a charmer; if family duty calls, a CX‑30 or roomier rival will be a calmer choice.
