mazda cx 5 2023 review australia Page 2

The 2023 Mazda CX-5 remains the segment’s overachiever: classy cabin, tight panel gaps, and steering that makes school runs feel mildly heroic.

Engines run from a 2.0L (115 kW/200 Nm) front-drive to a 2.5L (140 kW/252 Nm) AWD, a punchy 2.5L turbo (170 kW/420 Nm), and a thrifty 2.2L diesel (140 kW/450 Nm), all with a 6-speed auto.

It rides neatly, keeps road noise hushed, and the safety kit is generous, though the infotainment feels a generation behind and the boot (about 442 L) isn’t class-leading.

Expect new prices roughly AUD 36k–55k before on-roads, while near-new used examples hover around AUD 30k–50k depending on trim and kilometres.
