Short version: the Australian-spec MG4 does not include a heat pump, and there isn’t an official option here yet.
It uses a PTC resistive heater, which is simple but hungrier, so expect noticeably higher energy use in cold snaps and alpine trips.
Overseas markets offer a heat pump on some trims, but the hardware isn’t practically retrofittable to Aussie cars.
To minimise range loss, precondition the cabin while plugged in, lean on seat and wheel heaters, and keep the climate set modestly.
If a heat pump is a must-have, you’ll be shopping other EVs—or waiting to see if MG adds it in a local update.
Not glamorous, but your battery will thank you.
