MG began in Britain—Morris Garages, tea, tweed and spritely roadsters.
These days the MG car company is owned by SAIC Motor, a major Chinese automaker.
MGs sold in Australia are designed and built primarily in China, with the badge carrying the British heritage.
So it’s British by birth, Chinese by ownership and manufacturing, and Aussie by number plates.
If that upsets the purists, have a bikkie and carry on—the cars don’t seem bothered.
