mid engined ford mustang Page 2

Short answer: no, there’s never been a production mid‑engined Ford Mustang—your pony car keeps its heart up front, driving the rear wheels like nature intended. Ford flirted with the idea via the late‑’60s Mustang Mach 2 concept, and a handful of aftermarket one‑offs, but nothing showroom‑ready. If you want a mid‑engined blue oval hero, that’s the Ford GT, not a Mustang. Motorsport specials like the GT3 push the engine rearward for balance, but it’s still a front‑engine layout. So unless you’re shopping for a museum piece or a custom build, a “mid‑engined Mustang” is pub talk, not a listing.
