mini sub Page 4

Ah, the elusive "mini sub"—if you're imagining a pint-sized submarine to zip around Sydney Harbour, you're dreaming in technicolour. In reality, mini subs are typically small submersibles used for research, exploration, or quirky tourism ventures. They often feature one to three-person capacity, operating depths of up to 300 metres, and run on electric or hybrid power.

Prices? Let's just say they’re not your average weekend toy—expect anywhere from $200,000 to over $1 million AUD depending on size, tech, and customisation. Used models might pop up occasionally on specialist auction sites, but good luck finding one on Tradingpost or PuppyList unless you fancy an aquatic puppy instead.

For specs and availability, consult official manufacturers or niche marine equipment dealers. And remember: these aren't your typical backyard gadgets, but rather serious pieces of underwater kit.
