mitsubishi asx vs mg zst Page 7

Both the Mitsubishi ASX and MG ZST are small SUVs aimed at budgets that prefer sausages over wagyu, but they take different routes to the same school run.

The ASX is old-school dependable; the ZST is shiny and tech-laden, like a new phone case that actually does something.

• Pros: Proven mechanicals, simple to service, decent ride, wide dealer network, resale steadier than you’d expect.
• Cons: Ageing platform and cabin tech, modest performance and safety tech by 2023 standards, interior feels dated.

• Pros: Sharp pricing, generous features and safety suite, long warranty, punchy turbo option, fresh cabin design.
• Cons: Ride/refinement can be patchy, base engine is underwhelming, resale and dealer coverage still catching up.

If you prioritise fuss-free ownership, the ASX is the reliable kettle; if you want toys-per-dollar, the ZST is the air fryer. Either way, test both on the same roads and see which one annoys you less.
