mitsubishi pajero 2013 problems Page 2

The 2013 Mitsubishi Pajero is generally tough, but a decade of work and weekends can reveal a few gremlins. Most are fixable rather than fatal, yet worth checking before you hand over the folding stuff.

• EGR and intake carbon build‑up on the 3.2 Di‑D causing rough idle, smoke, or limp mode.
• Super Select 4WD indicator switches/solenoids playing up (flashing lights) even when the system still engages.
• Worn suspension bushes, ball joints and shocks leading to clunks and sloppy steering.
• Age‑related cooling issues (radiator/hoses) and tired alternators, especially on accessory‑heavy tourers.

Listen for driveline vibrations and check for transmission fluid changes done on time. A thorough pre‑purchase inspection and scan for stored fault codes will save you from inheriting someone else’s “project.”
