Chasing the most affordable 4WD in Australia? New, the thrifty end includes the Suzuki Jimny (fun in the low‑$30Ks), budget dual‑cabs like GWM Cannon and Mitsubishi Triton (mid‑$30Ks to mid‑$40Ks), and value wagons such as LDV D90 or Mahindra Scorpio (low‑to‑mid‑$40Ks). If you want low‑range without remortgaging the dog, the GWM Tank 300 lands around the mid‑$40Ks to $50Ks.

Used market? Older Pajero, Patrol, and Prado rigs can drop well under $20K if you’re patient and not scared of kilometres. Just budget for tyres, fluids, and the inevitable “while we’re in there” chat with your mechanic.
