most economical van australia Page 4

If by “economical” you mean fuel-sipping, the small van crowd usually wins—think Volkswagen Caddy TDI and Renault Kangoo, which are famed for frugal habits. Medium vans like Toyota HiAce and Hyundai Staria Load are impressively thrifty for their size, but physics still collects its dues. If you’re chasing the lowest running costs, electric options (Ford E-Transit, LDV eDeliver 9) can be cheapest per kilometre—provided you can charge off-peak and don’t need epic range. Your real-world economy depends on payload, roof racks, city stop-start, and how leaden your right foot is. Short version: pick the smallest van that does the job, and keep it serviced—your wallet will thank you with quiet dignity.
