Nash Motors (1916–1957) was the clever American outfit that merged into AMC, and it built more character per kilogram than most.
Notable Nash car models include the 600 (light, unitized pioneer), Statesman (mid-size), Ambassador (flagship), Rambler (compact that later wore AMC badges), the pint-sized Metropolitan, and the Nash-Healey sports car.
If you spy “Airflyte” styling, that’s the wind-tunnel era of smooth fastbacks and bathtub sedans—quirky, efficient, and very Nash.
After the merger, badges shifted toward Rambler, so late-’50s cars may be Nash in bones but Rambler by name.
Hunting one down? Prioritise condition and completeness; parts exist via AMC specialists, but rare trim bits play hard to get.
