new car delays australia Page 9

The great new-car waiting game in Australia has eased, but it’s not over. Many mainstream models are now 1–3 months, while hot-ticket hybrids and 4x4 utes can be 3–9 months, and bespoke luxury orders still drift into the 6–12 month zone.

EV supply has improved as ships and semiconductors stopped playing hide-and-seek, yet trim and colour fussiness can still add weeks. Cast a wider net across multiple dealers, ask about in-transit or cancelled builds, and be flexible on options. Or skip the queue entirely with a near-new find on Tradingpost—instant gratification, with just a hint of “I beat the system.”
