2023 in Australia was a flood of fresh metal, from bargain EVs to hulking family wagons.

Headline acts included the MG4 and BYD Dolphin (affordable EVs), the big, boxy Kia EV9, the new-gen Hyundai Kona, classy Mazda CX‑60, slick Honda ZR‑V, and a thoroughly updated Lexus RX.

There was also an updated Tesla Model 3 and a sprinkle of performance spice like the GR Corolla, because weekends exist.

If you’re shopping that cohort, expect improved safety tech, smarter cabins, and efficiency gains; the days of “new grille, who dis?” are mercifully over.
