new ranger engine Page 2

The latest Ford Ranger in Australia offers a smorgasbord: a 2.0-litre single-turbo diesel (~125 kW/405 Nm), a 2.0-litre bi-turbo diesel (154 kW/500 Nm), and a 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel (184 kW/600 Nm).

The 10-speed auto is widely fitted (the single-turbo pairs with a 6-speed), and 4x4 hardware is as stout as a pub schnitty.

If you like your utes loud and lairy, the Ranger Raptor runs a 3.0-litre twin-turbo petrol V6 (292 kW/583 Nm) that turns tyres and heads in equal measure.

Braked towing is up to 3,500 kg on most diesels (variant-dependent), while the Raptor trades tow bragging rights for go-fast giggles.

Key specs: multiple diesels plus a petrol performance V6, broad 4x4 availability, and 10-speed auto across most trims. Consult official documentation for exact figures.
