The Nissan Pintara in Australia had two main engines across its short, very Aussie life. First up (1986–1989, R31‑based) was the CA20E 2.0‑litre SOHC EFI, making roughly 76–79 kW and about 160 Nm. The second act (1989–1992, U12, now FWD) stepped up to the KA24E 2.4‑litre SOHC EFI, at roughly 96 kW and around 200 Nm. TRX and Ti trims weren’t secret turbo monsters—just firmer suspensions and body kits, with the same engines underneath. Both mills are simple and durable if serviced, though KA24E timing chain rattle and neglected CA20E head gaskets can spoil the nostalgia. Check for oil leaks, idle quality and a healthy cooling system before getting misty‑eyed over a survivor. Consult official documentation for exact figures.
