Slow flashing when the car’s locked or ignition off is normal—it’s just saying the immobiliser is armed. If it stays solid, flashes rapidly while driving, or you get “Key not detected”, the system isn’t happy: weak key battery, key not recognised, antenna/ring fault, or a module issue.
Try a fresh CR2032 battery, use the spare key, or hold the fob against the start button to start; then see a Nissan dealer or auto‑sparky if it persists. If the light’s solid and it won’t crank, you’re immobilised by design—no amount of swearing will fix it—so diagnosis with a scan tool is the next stop.
