The 2023 Nissan X‑Trail ST is a thoroughly sensible family hauler: 2.5-litre petrol, CVT, front-drive, and all the drama of a well-made sandwich. It rides comfortably, steers cleanly, and packs generous safety tech (AEB, lane and blind-spot assists) that keeps the blood pressure down. The cabin is roomy and practical, though the base infotainment and cabin trims feel more "hire car" than high art. Performance is fine rather than thrilling, and the CVT can drone when you ask for enthusiasm; economy is decent but not hybrid-good. Value stacks up, but if you want more toys and polish, step to ST-L or Ti—if you want punchy efficiency, the e‑Power lives higher in the range. Sensible, sorted, and very easy to live with—just don’t expect fireworks.
