nrma used car check Page 2

NRMA’s used car check is essentially a mechanical lie detector for second-hand cars. A qualified inspector examines the vehicle on-site, covering engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, body condition, and electricals, plus a road test if it’s safe. You get a written report that highlights current faults and looming costs—the sort of surprises best left to birthday parties. Pricing typically runs a few hundred AUD, with member discounts often available, which is still cheaper than adopting a lemon and calling it “quirky.” Booking is straightforward and turnaround is usually quick. Pair it with a PPSR check to see if the car’s history is cleaner than the seller’s storytelling.
