nsw ev grant Page 6

Short version: the NSW EV rebate and stamp duty exemption wrapped up on 1 January 2024.

Right now there’s no direct cash grant for private EV buyers in NSW, so budget without banking on a government top-up.

There are occasional state programs for charging infrastructure and fleets that open in rounds—brilliant for councils and businesses, less so for the average punter.

For salary packaging, the federal FBT exemption on eligible EVs can still sweeten a novated lease—Canberra’s handiwork, not Macquarie Street’s.

Before you sign anything, check the latest from the NSW Government, then test-drive something zippy and feel smug at the servo you no longer visit.
