on-road costs calculator wa Page 5

Hunting for an on-road costs calculator in WA? Short answer: there isn’t one magic button, but the maths isn’t scary. Start with the car’s price, then add Vehicle Licence Duty (stamp duty), registration + Motor Injury Insurance, number plate fee, and the dealer’s delivery/handling—plus any accessories and, if you’re getting fancy, Luxury Car Tax. WA’s Department of Transport has fee estimators for the rego bits; pair that with a dealer’s written drive-away quote and you’ve basically built your calculator. As a pub-test estimate, government charges add thousands on a typical new car, more as the price climbs. For the clearest figure, get the VIN and ask the dealer to itemise every charge—sunlight is the best disinfectant for mysterious “admin” fees.
