The 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander Aspire is the family SUV that does the school run with a straight face and still fancies a weekend away.

The 2.5-litre petrol with CVT is more smooth than swift, but the ride is comfy and road noise nicely hushed for its class.

Cabin space is generous, the third row is fine for kids in a pinch, and the Aspire’s kit list (safety assists, big screens, and smartphone smarts) hits the sweet spot.
