outlander phev review 2023 Page 2

The 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV finally feels like the plug‑in that “gets it”: comfy family SUV, proper EV commuting range, petrol backup for the long haul. The 2.4‑litre petrol working with twin electric motors serves up smooth, quiet shove and all‑wheel assurance, though you can feel the weight if you hustle. Cabin quality is solid and tech-packed, but the boot shrinks a tad versus the pure petrol, and the occasional third row is best for short people or short trips. Charge at home and you’ll sip fuel like a budgie; it even offers DC fast‑charging, rare for a PHEV. Gripes? Prices climb steeply by trim, CHAdeMO public chargers aren’t everywhere, and enthusiastic drivers will find the handling more sensible shoes than track spikes.
