p1 test tasmania tips Page 192

Heading for your P1 test in Tasmania? Treat it like a calm Sunday drive, only with someone judging your every blink.

Keep smooth and deliberate: mirror–signal–shoulder checks every time you move off, change lanes or exit a roundabout, and indicate for at least 5 seconds before pulling out from the kerb.

Stop means stop—wheels completely stationary at stop lines—and stick to the posted limits without dawdling; examiners love confident, legal progress.

Scan well ahead, manage gaps patiently, and remember school zones and yellow lines aren’t decorative.

Expect the classics: hill starts, three‑point turns and parking with tidy observation, plus hazard awareness at intersections.

Prep the car (tyres, lights, demisters) and your nerves (deep breaths), and you’ll be collecting those red P’s without the drama.
