p plate restrictions qld Page 3

Ah, the joys of P plates in Queensland—where freedom meets a bureaucratic bear hug. If you’re fresh out of your learner’s permit, expect to abide by some strict rules. Speed limits are capped at 90 km/h, and you’re not allowed to drive between midnight and 5 am unless supervised or for work purposes. Plus, you must display red P plates front and back, and guess what? You’re banned from towing and must have a zero blood alcohol level.

The restrictions last for 12 months, doubling if you’re under 25. For the exact nitty-gritty and updates, ServiceCentral and the Queensland Department of Transport websites are your best mates.
