p plate restrictions wa Page 11

In Western Australia, P plate drivers are under the microscope with some strict conditions to keep the roads safe and their insurance premiums manageable. Speed limits are capped at 90 km/h, and no driving between 12 am and 5 am unless for work, study, or emergencies. You're also limited to carrying only one passenger under 21 years old during those hours, because the government clearly believes P platers are more accident-prone with their mates along for the ride.

Other restrictions include a zero blood alcohol limit and mandatory display of red P plates. These rules are designed to curb risky behavior during the early stages of your driving career. For the nitty-gritty details, check out ServiceCentral or your local WA Department of Transport resources.
