In South Australia, the P-plate test route is either the VORT (Vehicle On Road Test) with an authorised examiner or the CBT&A logbook pathway with an instructor.
You’ll need a current learner’s permit, your completed logbook (or CBT&A certificate), and to pass the Hazard Perception Test before the licence upgrade.
Turn up in a roadworthy, registered car, bring ID, keep your BAC at 0.00, and leave the phone alone—yes, even hands‑free is out for Ls/Ps.
Pass the assessment and you’ll be issued a P1 licence, then, after meeting the required tenure and good behaviour, progress to P2 and eventually full licence.
Not exactly glamorous, but it gets you legal and mobile without distressing the Department of Infrastructure and Transport.
