p plate vehicle restrictions wa Page 3

In Western Australia, P plate drivers face a set of restrictions aimed at keeping the roads safer for everyone, especially those fresh behind the wheel. Key restrictions include a maximum power-to-weight ratio of 130 kW per tonne and a speed limit of 90 km/h for P1 drivers, which increases to unrestricted speeds for P2 drivers after 12 months. Additionally, P plate drivers cannot tow a trailer or drive high-powered vehicles like certain sports cars. These rules are designed to curb risk-taking and improve driver experience over time.

For the nitty-gritty details and vehicle eligibility, check out the official WA Department of Transport guidelines or browse available P plate-eligible vehicles on Tradingpost or CarShowroom.
