performance plate boats Page 374

Performance plate boats are the speed demons of the water, boasting a flat, planing hull that lets them skim across the surface with minimal drag. These boats excel in activities like water skiing, wakeboarding, and high-speed cruising. Typically, they feature lightweight construction and powerful outboard motors, often exceeding 150 horsepower, to get you airborne over wakes.

However, their flat hulls can deliver a choppy ride in rougher waters, and they tend to sacrifice some stability for speed. New models can set you back anywhere from $50,000 to over $150,000 AUD, while used ones vary widely based on age and condition—you might find bargains on Tradingpost or CarShowroom. If you crave adrenaline on the waves and don't mind a bit of splash, these boats are your go-to.
