So, you want to keep tabs on Fido or Whiskers without resorting to a GPS collar that screams, "I’m a lost pet waiting to happen"? A pet tracker is a nifty gadget that uses GPS or Bluetooth to locate your furry friend in real-time. Most decent models boast live tracking, geofencing alerts, and activity monitoring. Prices range from about $100 to $300 AUD new, depending on features and battery life, while used ones might pop up on PuppyList or Tradingpost for less.
Keep in mind, some trackers require monthly subscription fees for cellular connectivity, so factor that into your budget. If your pet is a Houdini, these devices are a blessing, but if you just have a lazy couch potato, maybe a tracker is just a fancy chew toy. Always check the latest reviews and specs before splurging.
