pink salt lake adelaide Page 7

Ah, the pink salt lakes near Adelaide—nature's own neon sign. These lakes get their rosy hue from the presence of halobacteria and algae that thrive in salty environments. They're quite the spectacle, especially during the warmer months when the salt concentration peaks. The most famous one near Adelaide is Lake Bumbunga, located about 150 km north, known for its stunning, postcard-worthy pink waters.

Visiting these lakes is free, and they provide fantastic photo ops, but don’t expect a beach day—these are salt pans, not swimming spots. If you're after souvenirs or more info, local markets or sites like Tradingpost might help you find some pink salt products harvested from the area.
