Getting a Pink Slip (eSafety Check) in NSW is basically a roadworthiness exam: tyres, brakes, lights, steering, suspension, windscreen, seatbelts and leaks get scrutinised.
It’s required when your light vehicle is over five years old and due for rego renewal. Book an authorised inspection station and they’ll upload the result to Service NSW immediately; pass and you’ve got up to 6 months to renew. Fail and you typically have 14 days to fix the issues and return to the same place for re‑inspection. Expect to pay around AUD 40–50 for the check, and it usually takes 20–30 minutes—unless your car’s auditioning for “Rust: The Musical.” Keep your rego and insurance details handy and you’ll be done before morning tea.
