Changing a pollen (cabin) filter is a five‑minute favour to your lungs and a mercy to your HVAC.
On most cars it hides behind the glovebox; drop the box, unclip the cover, slide the old filter out, note the airflow arrow, and slide the new one in.
If it looks like a filthy grey lasagne sheet or your fan wheezes, it’s overdue—swap it every 12 months or about 15,000–20,000 km in Aussie conditions.
Don’t run the fan with the cover off, and if access is buried (some Euros… bless them), consult the owner’s manual or let a technician cop the scraped knuckles.
Expect a basic paper filter to be cheap, charcoal versions a tad pricier; either way, the nose will notice.
Check back soon, or revise your filters.
